I heard that there are some changes to Maclean's. What are they?

As of January 1, 2017, Maclean's frequency in print will change to monthly, with a weekly edition available on the App and on Texture. New content will continue to be posted daily to Macleans.ca.

How does the frequency change impact my subscription?

We will be serving the remaining number of issues owed to you by extending your expiration date to ensure you get the full value of what you paid for.

What happens if I am an RRA customer?

The Rogers Reader's Advantage program will continue to offer the guaranteed lowest prices to Rogers customers on Rogers magazines charged monthly to their Rogers bill. There is no commitment and you can cancel at any time. Gift subscriptions are no longer offered through the Rogers Reader's Advantage program, effective September 30, 2016. If you ordered a one-year gift subscription, charged to your Rogers bill, and it extends into 2017, you will be provided with a credit.

What happens if I am an FIDO customer?

The Fido Magazine program will continue to offer the guaranteed lowest prices to Fido customers on Rogers magazines charged monthly to their Fido bill. There is no commitment and you can cancel at any time Gift subscriptions are no longer offered through the Fido Magazine Program, effective September 30, 2016. If you ordered a one-year gift subscription, charged to your Fido bill, and it extends into 2017, you will be provided with a credit.

What happens if I ordered my subscription through RMS?

Rogers Magazine Service is a continuous service subscription program (RogersMags.com), offering more than 150 top Canadian and U.S. magazines, including magazines published by Rogers. Rogers Magazine Service will cease its sales operation on December 31, 2016. Customer Service on all magazines sold through this program will continue in 2017, via RogersMags.com. As of January 2017, your credit card will no longer be charged.

What happens if I ordered my subscription through an agency? (e.g. EBSCO, QSP, PCH, Groupe Somitel, Rabais Campus/LeBlanc & David)

Will you still have a digital version through iTunes?

Yes, digital version of Maclean's will still be available in iTunes.

Can I transfer my unused portion for 2017 to the digital format?

If your magazine continues in print, you'll get digital free.

Can I use the remainder of my subscription towards Texture?

No, but you are more than welcome to try Texture for free. Please contact us to receive your 30-days free trial of Texture at 1-800-268-6811.

How is the digital magazine edition on tablet and phone different from the print edition?

The digital version of our magazine features all of the content from the print issue along with exclusive interviews, embedded videos, expanded galleries, interactive graphics and newsroom podcasts.

Not all of the platforms can support the same level of enhancement or interactivity, which may result in content variations. Some apps are a reproduction of the print edition, while others are enhanced with simple features such as animation, or richly optimized with multimedia and interactivity. To ensure you have the best digital experience you should purchase it from us.

How is the digital edition delivered to me?

You will receive your digital edition a soon as it is available, which is always before the Print issue hits the newsstands. It will be delivered directly to the device on which you activated your subscription.

I have been accessing articles on your website and have now received a message stating: "You have viewed your entire free subscriber content for the month, want more?" What does this message mean?

  1. Some of our websites offer free limited access to our articles, once you hit that limit it will prompt you to sign in or sign up, this message is referred to as a Paywall.
  2. If you subscribe to our magazine you can continue to access our webpage content by signing in or signing up.
  3. The Sign In/Sign Up icon may appear when you reach your limit as a pop up or it may be at the top right corner of the website depending on the magazine.

How do I sign up?

  1. Click on Sign up
  2. Enter a Username.
  3. Choose a password
  4. Add your email, First and Last Name, Date of birth, Gender and postal code
  5. Enter you subscription number and click "Sign me up"

How do I Sign in?

Enter your username or email address and password

If you Forgot your password you must retrieve it.

  1. Click on Forgot password.
  2. Enter your email address and click submit.
  3. Check your e-mail for the confirmation link.
  4. Follow the prompts and then sign in

To ensure you do not hit the Paywall again, if you have not already done so, you must update your profile with your subscription number.

  1. Sign in and click on the right corner of the website.
  2. You should see your Username.
  3. Click on Edit Profile to add your subscription number and required fields.
  4. Once completed click on Update to save this information.

Which app should I have on my device?

iOS iTunes App: has enhanced, interactive replicas built specifically for the iPad – and iPhone (where applicable).

Android App: has enhanced, interactive replicas built specifically for the tablet – and smartphone.

Windows 8 App: has enhanced, interactive replicas built specifically for the Windows 8, Surface Tablet and desktop.

Fire OS and KOBO Apps: these are a PDF replica product. Kindle-branded apps for nearly every platform and device type.

I have just purchased a digital subscription from you, how do I access my subscription on Apple, Windows Store or Google Play?

If you purchased a subscription for our digital edition directly from us, you are able to access by activating your digital account. The first step is to create an account:

If you purchased your subscription via an agency, direct your refund request to the agent.

App Store
Creating and activating your Account through Apple Store:

  1. Download app from the App Store
  2. On your iPad: Select "Sign In" from your toolbar. Select "Create an Account" from the available options.
  3. On your iPhone: Select Settings icon in toolbar. Select "I have a Subscription" under Accounts
  4. Enter your email address, a password and your Subscription Account number to create a digital access account
  5. Go back to app to sign-in with your e-mail and password

Windows Store
Creating and activating your Account through Windows Store:

  1. To install apps from the Windows Store, you'll need to sign up for a Microsoft account.
  2. Go to the Windows Store and search for the magazine App.
  3. Tap on the app and tap on install.
  4. Once it says completed, tap on the magazine icon.
  5. It will be either blank or any free editions will be displayed
  6. Find the Setting icon and tap "Sign in," and then choose "create an account or activate"
  7. Enter an email address and password along with your subscriber account number.
  8. Tap activate, you will receive a message that you have successfully created an account
  9. Now your subscription has been activated.

Google Play
Creating and activating your Account through Google Play Store:

  1. Download app from the Google Play Store. (Go to the APPLICATIONS tab, not NEWSSTAND)

  4. Go back to app to sign-in with your e-mail and password.

What issues am I entitled to as part of my digital subscription?

Purchasing from the publisher entitles you to all available issues we have published in the library. If you purchased your subscription through the store (iTunes, Google Play Store or the Window Store) you will not have access to the back issues.

What happens to my issues when my subscription expires?

Nothing. Any purchased digital issues or issues available as parts of your subscription are yours to keep (Unless you delete the downloaded version from your device).

How do I cancel the digital subscription?

If you purchased your digital subscription through Rogers, simply contact our customer service department (For Apple iOS, Windows 8 and Android devices). You may call us at 1-877-558-2325 (within Canada and the U.S.) or fax us at 1-800-364-3418, or click here to make your request at any time

If you purchased your subscription through the store (iTunes, Google Play Store or the Window Store), you will have to cancel your subscription by contacting the digital partner through whom it was purchased.

What if I am already a subscriber to the print version? Can I convert my subscription to the digital version?

Yes, simply contact our customer service department (For Apple iOS, Windows 8 and Android devices). You may call us at 1-877-558-2325 (within Canada and the U.S.) or fax us at 1-800-364-3418, or click here to make your request at any time. Be sure to include the exact name and address as it appears on your account. Please state that you want to switch from print to digital version. Your subscription will be reset based upon the current digital subscription price.
